These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GoldRoute website and SMS service (the "Service"), operated by Shining Brass LLC ("GoldRoute," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What GoldRoute does

GoldRoute provides free, informational estimates of what your gold items may be worth and routes you to an independent, verified partner store near you. GoldRoute does not buy gold. The independent stores we route you to are the buyers and operate their own businesses. GoldRoute is not a party to any transaction between you and a store.

2. Estimates are non-binding

Any dollar figure shown by the Service is an estimate only and is presented as a range. Estimates are based on information you provide and current market assumptions, and are not an offer to buy. A final offer requires in-person testing of your item by the partner store. The actual amount a store offers may be higher or lower than the estimate, and we do not guarantee any price.

3. SMS program terms

If you provide your phone number and consent, you agree to receive SMS text messages from GoldRoute about your gold estimate, including referral codes, store directions, and follow-up reminders.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

4. Eligibility and identification

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. When you sell an item to a partner store, California precious-metals law requires that you present a valid government-issued photo identification at the point of sale, and the store will record transaction details as required by law. The store may decline any transaction at its discretion.

5. No guarantee of price or outcome

We make no representations or warranties regarding the value of any item, the availability of any store, or the outcome of any visit. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not misuse the Service, attempt to interfere with its operation, or submit information that is fraudulent or that you are not authorized to provide.

If you choose to upload a photo of your item, you confirm that it is your own item or that you are authorized to provide the image, and you agree that we may store it and share it with the partner store to help with your estimate. A photo is optional and is never required to receive an estimate.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shining Brass LLC and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of the Service or from any transaction between you and an independent store.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
