Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Shining Brass LLC ("GoldRoute," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the GoldRoute website and SMS service (the "Service"). GoldRoute provides free local gold estimates and routes you to an independent, verified partner store near you. GoldRoute does not buy gold; the partner stores are the buyers.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by:
Shining Brass LLC3054 Lopez Road
Pebble Beach, CA 93953
[email protected]
2. Information we collect
When you request an estimate or use the Service, we may collect:
- Contact information: the phone number you provide.
- Location information: the ZIP code you enter, used to match you to a nearby partner store.
- Item information: details you provide about your gold, such as item type, karat stamp, and weight.
- Optional photo: a photograph of your item, if you choose to upload one. A photo is never required to obtain an estimate.
- Language preference: English or Spanish.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser user-agent string, collected automatically when you visit the site.
- Marketing attribution: campaign parameters from the link you arrived through (UTM source, medium, campaign, and content).
How we improve this page (behavioral analytics). We track how visitors interact with the GoldRoute landing page — scroll position, which buttons are tapped, time spent on the page, and where people stop filling out the form — so we can make the experience faster and clearer over time. We do not record what you type into form fields. We store the length of an entry (for example, "the phone field held 11 characters") but never its contents until you submit the form. We keep this interaction data for 90 days, and de-identified aggregate statistics indefinitely. To opt out of behavioral tracking, turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser — the Service still works, we just stop recording interaction events.
3. Why we collect it
- To calculate and deliver an estimated value range for your gold.
- To match you with, and route you to, an appropriate independent partner store.
- To send you SMS text messages containing your estimate, referral code, store directions, and follow-up reminders (only if you consent).
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to secure and maintain the Service.
- To measure the effectiveness of our marketing and improve the Service.
4. SMS consent and how to opt out
We send SMS text messages only if you check the consent box and submit the form. By doing so, you agree to receive text messages from GoldRoute about your gold estimate, including referral codes, store directions, and follow-up reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further marketing texts.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [email protected].
Your mobile opt-in and consent information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information in the following limited circumstances:
- With the partner store you are routed to. To complete your visit, we share relevant details (such as your referral code, item information, phone number, and any photo of your item you choose to upload) with the independent store we match you with. That store is the buyer and operates under its own policies.
- With service providers. We use vendors that help us operate the Service, such as SMS messaging and hosting providers, who process information on our behalf under contract.
- For legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of GoldRoute or others.
6. Advertising on Facebook and Instagram
GoldRoute uses Meta's Facebook and Instagram platforms to publish advertisements promoting the services of the independent partner stores, Popular Pawn and DHS Jewelry and Loan. When you interact with our advertisements, Meta may share with us aggregated and de-identified information about ad delivery and engagement, such as impressions, clicks, and on-platform conversions. We do not receive your individual Facebook or Instagram profile data through this process.
We may use the Meta Pixel on goldroute.io. When active, it collects standard web analytics — page views, form submissions, IP address, and user-agent — which we use solely to optimize ad delivery and measure campaign effectiveness, and which is governed by Meta's data use policies in addition to this one. We retain this data for up to 24 months, and you may request deletion of information we hold about you at any time via [email protected].
7. Data retention
We retain lead and estimate information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for a reasonable period afterward to support recordkeeping, fraud prevention, and legal obligations, typically up to 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law. Optional photos are retained only as long as needed to support your estimate and are then deleted. You may request earlier deletion as described below.
8. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Request access to a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9. Children
The Service is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
